When you are satisfied that all is well on the UNIX machine, you can create a checklist of the information that Control Center will need.
The UNIX node name of the machine
The Target Number that was used
The machine’s manufacturer (e.g., IBM)
The machine’s operating system and level (e.g., AIX 7.2)
The machine’s IP Address (or node name if DNS name resolution is available)
The username under which Acquire has been installed (usually metron)
The password for the user metron
The type of Acquire; that is, Standard in this case
Any changes to the default path to the pacct file if you want to capture accounting data.
That concludes the installation and testing instructions for a standard Acquire where no Oracle data is to be captured.
