The Collection Profile that you use for FTP push data collection MUST include the following three components:
-
Retrieve component – This tells Acquire how often it is to connect to the FTP server for the purposes of retrieving new instructions, for example a new capture profile or an auto-update instruction. In order to make the Acquire responsive to requested changes, you might set the interval to be 2 minutes, continuous. Note that you should usually specify a different (faster) frequency for the Retrieve component than for the Push or the Collect components.
-
Push component – This specifies the frequency with which the Acquire should push its captured data files to the FTP server. Normally, you will want to set this approximately the same as the Capture interval (as specified in the Capture Profile), but this is not compulsory.
-
Collect component – This tells Control Center, in the normal way, how often it is to connect to the FTP server to bring back the data files that the Acquire has pushed there. Again, this should normally be in line with the underlying capture interval, but this is not compulsory.
You can find these three options for component type in the Type drop-down list when you create a new Collection Profile.
