Upgrading is only possible from Syncsort™ Capacity Management v12.00 or later.
To upgrade from an older version of Syncsort™ Capacity Management or any version of Athene, you must uninstall the older version and then install this one. Please note that the Syncsort Capacity Management installer can detect a previously installed version of Athene, but does not reliably instruct you to manually uninstall it.
Before you uninstall older versions of Syncsort™ Capacity Management or Athene, we recommend collecting your current configuration information to use during the new installation. Once Syncsort Capacity Management has been installed, run the Upgrade Database utility.
Stop the Control Center and Scheduler services and stop using all reporting applications.
Back-up your existing Capacity Database(s).
Perform the upgrade by running the setup.exe program to replace your existing Syncsort Capacity Management installation.
After upgrading the software, ensure that any required post-installation actions are performed.Note:- Due to changes in the application of registry updates, if you upgrade the product you will receive a message requesting to “restart windows.” Please ignore this message and select “restart later.” DO NOT reboot at this time. If you choose to reboot, an important update will not be applied.
- If you choose to reboot, once the machine is back online you can run the executable “FixAtheneCCRegistry.exe” located in the Hotfix folder.
- Upgrade the Job Schedulers and Portal.
Run the Upgrade Database utility against all databases to condition their structure to match the new software. Upgrade Database may take a significant amount of time.
Restart the Control Center, Job Schedulers and Scheduler services, and Portal and resume use of reporting applications.
