This section describes the Windows user privileges required for installing, running and administering Syncsort™ Capacity Management Job Scheduler (JS). All Syncsort™ Capacity Management applications connect to the Capacity Database using Windows Authentication for SQL Server. Therefore, you must install all components on the same domain or there must be a trust relationship between the domains.

Job Scheduler Service

The account running the service needs to have the following permissions:
  • Log on Locally and Logon as a Service (this will be granted during the installation process)
  • Access to the database via Windows Authentication
  • db_datawriter on the database
  • If the SQL server is on the same machine, then the “Local System” account can be used to run service. A Windows login to SQL Server needs to be defined for <DOMAIN>\<COMPUTERNAME>$, where COMPUTERNAME is the name of the system where Control Center is running.
