During the installation process it is necessary to configure the options for Working Folder which stores the data being processed by one or more Control Center services for a single Capacity Database. There are two options:
- Install Control Center service with local Working Folders: Choose this
option if the Control Center service can directly collect and process all the
data for its associated targets, i.e. it will not receive data from a
Concentrator Control Center service.Figure 1. Syncsort™ Capacity Management Installer - Install Control Center with local Working Folders
- Install Control Center service with shared Working Folders that are part of a
Pool: Choose this option if the Control Center service will receive data
from a Concentrator Control Center. It can include sharing the processing of
that data with other Control Center services.Note: Until the Control Center service has been started successfully and has registered itself with the Capacity Database – later in the installation process, the Database will NOT include the specified Pool details. If you select this option, the following additional options are enabled:
- Specify the Pool name that you want to add to the Control
Center service. A Pool is a logical group of Control Center services
associated with a single Capacity Database, which all have direct
access to a single Shared Work Area. The Pool name must be
unique in a single Capacity Database.Note: If you don’t specify a Pool name, it will use the default which is the local system name.Figure 2. Syncsort™ Capacity Management Installer - Install Control Center with shared Working Folders that are part of a new Pool
- Select Add to an existing Pool checkbox if this Pool has
already been defined during a previous installation of the Syncsort
Capacity Management Core software.Note: Ensure that the existing Pool Name is accurate as it will not be validated during the installation process. The Control Center will take the shared work area path from the existing Control Center pool that you select during the installation.Figure 3.
