System Manager is used to define the Capture and Collection details of the Targets.
-
The Concentrator requests a list of Targets and their capture and collection details from the Control Center.
-
The Concentrator Manager is used to specify the credentials for the Targets.
-
The Concentrator Service uses these credentials to connect to Targets, send capture profiles and collect raw data files.
-
The Concentrator Service regularly "pushes" (via HTTPS) the data to the Syncsort Capacity Management Control Center, where it is processed into the Capacity Database.
While a Concentrator is always used when deploying a Syncsort™ Capacity Management Cloud solution, any organization can use a Concentrator if their Syncsort™ Capacity Management implementation spans multiple domains.
Essentially it splits the work of a standard Control Center into two distinct components, one for the collection of the performance data (the Concentrator) and one for the processing of the data into a standard Capacity Database.
