How to configure Global Geocoding to produce CASS certified output files and USPS CASS Form 3553 reports.

To configure a Global Geocoding to generate CASS certified output files and USPS CASS reports, follow the procedure given in Spectrum Global Geocoding Workflow. The instructions given in each step include the information you need to configure the Global Geocoding for CASS Certification. Additionally:

  • When you add the Spectrum Global Geocoding Database Resource:
    • Select only the following datasets. Make sure all the bundles have the same vintage.
      • DPV
      • LACSLink
      • RDI
      • SuiteLink
      • USA-USPS
    • Edit Java Properties to enable CASS Certification. Set CASS_CERTIFICATION to true.
    • After you create the database resource, check its status on the Management Console's Resources: Spectrum Databases page. If the Status column indicates an error, hover over the comment to see the error message. Correct any issues before continuing.
  • Set Preferences and Options, either using the Management Console or Enterprise Designer:
    • Setting Global Defaults in Management Console:
      1. Select the database resource you created above.
      2. Click Reset Settings to clear the settings.
      3. Expand the Country Filter dropdown and select United States.
      4. Open the Matching tab.
      5. Add a Match Mode setting for USA and set its value to CASS. Click the Country column's + value to open the Override Value dialog. Use the first dropdown to select United States. In the second dropdown, select CASS.
      6. Open the Return Values tab.
      7. Check the Return all available information checkbox for ALL countries.
      8. Scroll down to the CASS 3553 report details settings. Set the values as desired. This information will be included in the CASS 3553 report.
    • Setting Global Defaults in Enterprise Designer
      1. Include Global Geocoding in a dataflow.
      2. Select Global Geocoding to open the Global Geocode Options dialog.
      3. Check Override system default options with the following values.
      4. Use the Database Resource dropdown to select the database resource you created for CASS Certification.
      5. In Filters, expand Global Defaults.
      6. Expand Return Values.
      7. Check the checkbox for Return all available information.
      8. In Filters, expand United States.
      9. Expand Matching.
      10. Set Match Mode to CASS.
      11. Expand Return Values.
      12. Update the CASS 3553 Report Details settings.
