For all the multilingual countries, the RETURN_ALT_LANG_FIELDS constraint was used to convert fields to the alternate language. To support the alternate language feature for Japan, a new custom constraint called DESIRED_ALT_LANGUAGE has been implemented. This constraint accepts a two-letter language code as a parameter. User now has a capability to provide language code for Latin (EN), Katakana (KA) or Kanji (JA) for which they want the response. Output language needs be one that the country supports (EN, KA, JA). This feature is implemented only for Japan and all other multilingual countries would not be impacted by this functionality. For more details see Geo Addressing Data Release Notes.
