Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) county numbers are numbers that identify each county in a state. Note that these numbers are only unique at the state level, not the national level. For more information, see http://www.census.gov.
To obtain FIPS county numbers, select the Include postal information check box on the Output Data Options tab. This will return a variety of data about the address, including FIPS county numbers. For information on the specific data that this option will return, see Postal Data Output.
