The First Quarter 2024 International Postal Database contains updated country data. For a complete list of countries and the level at which the database recognizes countries, see Country Levels.

Note: Although the First Quarter 2024 database is compatible with the previous CODE-1 Plus International 1.8.4 software versions, it is highly recommended that you install the CODE-1 Plus International 1.8.5 software to benefit from the enhancements included in the 1.8.5 release. The CODE-1 Plus International 1.8.5 software release contains enhancements that improve address matching for all countries. For information on installing the First Quarter 2024 International Postal Database, see the installation instructions for your respective platform.

Postcode format in the world

Different countries have diverse approaches to defining their postcode systems, including their placement within addresses, mandatory usage and alphanumeric composition. Understanding these details is crucial for correct address processing. Therefore, we publish the list summarizing postcode formats per country, indicating whether they are mandatory, which countries use postcodes, and their composition. You can download it at: Postcode Formats.

Georgia: new data at premise level

The current release of the Universal POST*CODEĀ® DataBase provides new addressing data for Georgia at street address level. The Georgia dataset contains more than 10,000 streets and street number ranges and 3,910 records at locality level.

The national postcode is composed of four digits to the left of the locality name. The first two digits represent the major town or regional centre and the second part represents the delivery office.
