Coordinates used in the Spatial+ library are always represented as signed integers. Longitudes and latitudes are always in millionths of degrees with positive numbers representing the Eastern and Northern hemispheres, respectively, and negative numbers representing the Western and Southern hemispheres. For example, the point 140°W by 30°N would be represented as -140000000, 30000000. The library always assumes that the longitude is the horizontal direction and the latitude is the vertical direction.
Therefore, when using user defined coordinates, the X value will be passed in as the longitude parameter and the Y value will be passed in as the latitude. In this manual, the lon/lat and X/Y notations are used interchangeably.
Spatial+ also supports user coordinates for the following functions:
- Radial
- Comparison
- Basic PiP
