Overview
Template management tasks include:View Existing Templates
To view the list of workbooks configured as SmartTemplate Pro templates and see how they are configured:
- Click the Open Template button on the toolbar.
- A dropdown menu will appear that lists the last five configured workbooks that were opened in Excel. Hovering over a workbook will cause the template's full path to be displayed in a tooltip. At the bottom of the list is the option to View All Templates. Click View All Templates.
- A list of all workbooks that are configured as a template will appear. Beneath
the name of each workbook is the location of the workbook and its template
configuration information:
Source name: The name of the data source.
Saved Set name: The name of the Saved Set, if one was selected.
Saved Search name: The name of the Saved Search, if one was selected.
Open a Template
To open a workbook that has been configured as a template:
- Click the Open Template button on the toolbar. A dropdown menu will appear that lists the last five configured workbooks that were opened in Excel. At the bottom of the list is the option to View All Templates.
- Either select a workbook or click View All Templates to bring up the complete list of workbooks and select one there.
- The selected workbook will open.
View a Template's Information
To view information about the current template, click the Template Info dropdown on the toolbar. The current template's information will be displayed:

Folder name: The folder in which the data source is stored.

Source name: The name of the data source.

Saved Set: The name of the Saved Set, if one was included.

Saved Search: The name of the Saved Search, if one was included.

EnterWorks Site: The URL of the EnterWorks environment.

Created By: The username used to create the template.

Created Date: The date and time the template was created.
View a Template's Structure
To view the structure to of the template, click the Template Structure button on the toolbar.
A window will appear that displays the repositories included in the template, their parent-child relationships, and the attributes included in the template.
The title of each of the repositories shown is written in the form in the form
<repository-name>
(link-relationship-name)
, in the same manner as it is displayed
in the first row of the sheet.
At the bottom left of the window are screen controls. Clicking the magnifying glass will open a small display that can be used to magnify the selected portion of the structure. Clicking the cross button will reset the screen magnification to show the entire structure in the window.
Delete a Template
If you delete a template, you are actually un-configuring the workbook. Your sheets and data will remain but they will no longer be associated with a data source.
To delete a workbook's template, click the Template Info button on the toolbar and select Delete Template. A confirmation window will appear that asks if you want to delete the template. If you select Yes, the template will be deleted, but the workbook's sheets and data will be retained.
To save the change to the workbook, save the workbook. If you exit without saving the workbook, when you reopen the workbook, the workbook will still be configured as a template.
