The EnterWorks 10.5 release has the following known limitations. Numbers in parentheses indicate Suupport and Jira tracking tickets.
Add-on Products and Third-Party Software
EnterWorks Add-on products and third-party software do not support localization or multi-language attributes.- Match and Merge with Fusion (EW-10817)
- Publication Manager, including Publication Templates
- OneWorldSync
- Sales and Services Portal (SSP)
- SmartTemplate Pro
- Workflow and EPX Design Console
Change Notification
- Multi-language support is not provided for the Change Notification feature. (EW-9846, EW-9847, EW-9894)
Channel Readiness
- Channel readiness does not support data analysis on linked or multi-language values.
Dashboard
- The Filter Report widget does not display linked attributes. (EW-10181)
- System Health widget error messages will not be localized.
Data Management
- If an associated group code set attribute is edited using the cell editor and a
code set value is added, it replaces the existing code set value in the pop up
window. Saving it removes the value from the grid.
Workaround: Use the Record Editor to edit repeatable code sets. (EW-9703)
- A multi-language attribute can only have a default value for the default language (English-US) variant of the attribute. Default values for language variants can be achieved with the use of PreSave rules or callout triggers. (EW-10679)
- The
AttrValReplaceViaCodeset
callout only replaces content for the English variant of multi-language attributes. (EW-10838) - Saved set and saved search name localization is not supported.
Data Model
- In the Classic UI, if multi-language attribute tab and group names are edited
from the profile editor, the names are not saved. (EW-1917, EW-9059)
Workaround: Edit multi-language attribute tab and group names from the Feature bar > repository > Manage Model > Attribute Groups or Attribute Tabs.
- EnterWorks system data model elements and objects are not localized. They appear in English only. These elements and objects include those for Digital Asset Management, Scheduled Jobs, Change Notification, EDI pre-processing, Import pre-processing, Export post-processing, Package Promotions, Publication callouts, Validation callouts, Workflow, and Publication Merge.
- Complex (alphanumeric) date formats such as "10 Jan 1984" are not supported.
- The Date format is defined in shared configuration properties. All dates will be displayed in that format, no matter which session language is selected.
- The display of currency symbols (such as $ and €) for currency attributes is not supported.
- Auto-conversion of currency attribute values according to the locale is not supported.
- Attribute non-default language variants cannot be primary keys.
- Attribute non-default language variants cannot be used as join attributes in link relationships.
- The Linked Record editor allows you to edit an attribute's linked records' values. The Linked Record editor cannot edit a multi-language attribute's non-default language variants. It can only edit an attribute's default language variant.
- Associated Groups cannot contain multi-language attributes.
- Repeatable numeric attributes will use only the United States numeric format.
- Google Translate is not supported for repeatable attributes.
- Once a data model object is created, its language cannot be changed.
- The only attribute Control Types that support multi-language are HTML Editor, Text Field, and Text Area. (EW-7428)
- Attributes with a control type of Zip Code do not accept alphabet characters.
They only accept digits. Attributes with a control type of Phone Number only
accept up to 10 digits.
Workaround: Use the Control Type: Custom Format Pattern. (EW-4853)
- Control types displaying metadata as dropdown values will not display localized data.
Digital Asset Management
- When DAM is configured for AWS S3 storage, an Image Cleanup job takes a long time to complete and issues the warning "Total file items in text file do not match Job total items in Job table". The job does eventually complete and images are cleaned up from DAMRoot. (EW-9205)
Documentation
- EnterWorks product documentation is only published in English.
Events
- Events functionality is not localized.
Imports and Exports
-
These Advanced Options for an Import Widget are not saved: Use alternative primary keys and Extended Data in One Row Format. (Support 69068, EW-8338)
Workaround: These options are deprecated in the Import widget. To use these options, use the import function available in the Repository View.
- When an export template is modified then used, unless the cache is cleared, the previous version of the template is used instead of the modified version. (EW-9198)
- The full definition of a template is not exported when an import template is exported.
(EW-10464)
Workaround: Migrate out the template, then migrate it in.
- In the New UI, when I do an import current view and select Save Records in Repository but
not Imported from Source as Set, a saved set is not created. (EW-10735)
This feature has been deprecated.
- The Import screen should not display the language dropdown when the template has a multi-language attribute of a different locale. (EW-5693)
- When Mapped CSV, InDesign CSV, XML and JSON templates are created, the UI's labels and buttons are not localized. They are only displayed in English. (EW-9373, EW-9374)
- If an import template is created, then a child repository is selected, then attributes from
the parent repository are selected, then the child repository is unselected,
when the user tries to save the template, the error "No key attribute mapped for
the target repository" is generated. (EW-10767)
Workaround: Recreate the template.
- System and Business administration actions performed in the New UI are assumed to be performed with English as the session language. Examples of administration actions that can be performed in the New UI are the creation of Export Templates (Mapped CSV, InDesign CSV, XML, JSON, and Exchange) and Scheduled Job creation.
- When an import is performed, multi-language attribute language variants may not be automapped as you intend. Verify column mapping before importing data.
Languages
- The default language is English United States (en-US). It cannot be changed.
Logs
- Generated logs are not localized.
Migration
- Data objects with special characters in their name are not migrated correctly. The special
characters are those that must be escaped in XML, including: & < > ".
(EW-10106)
Workaround: Do not include special characters such as & < > " in the names of data objects.
Preferences
- When a multi-language attribute is added to a preference and language variants of the attribute are also added to the preference, sometimes if the attribute and its variants are sorted, an Ambiguous Column Name error is generated. Also if one language variant is removed from the sort, sometimes the attribute and all its language variants are removed. (EW-9143)
- Preferences do not support sorting multiple language variants of the same attribute.
- If category attributes are included in a preference and an attempt is made to edit a record that has an empty taxonomy node or to edit a category attribute does not belong to the taxonomy node, the values will not be saved. (EW-9642)
- When a preference is being created, sometimes when if you click the tabs to move between the
preference editor's pages instead of using the Back and Next
buttons, when you finish editing and click Apply, a blank screen appears.
(EW-10899)
Workaround: Use the Back and Next buttons to switch between pages rather than clicking the editor's tabs.
Scheduled Jobs
- On-demand Scheduled Promotions are run even if their status is set to Inactive. (EW-10524)
Search and Filter
- When an Advance Search or Column Filter is applied, the IN operator does not work for numeric fields. (EW-4431)
- If Snapshot language support is disabled for a repository, look ups for multi-language attributes will only appear for the default language's variant of the attribute. (EW-10798, EW-10800)
- In Advanced Search and column filters, the Between operator is not working for localized
numeric attributes. (EW-10918)
Workaround: Use > Greater Than and < Less Than searches instead.
Snapshot Tables
- When a repository's snapshot table is configured for multi-language support, if a Populate Missing Records Snapshot Table job is run, records are only added to the main snapshot table, which is the default language's snapshot table. Records are not added to the language snapshot tables. (EW-7467)
- If multi-language support is configured for a snapshot table, then records are added or
edited in the repository, then multi-language support is disabled, then records
are added or edited, then multi-language support is re-enabled, errors occur.
(EW-7470)
Workaround: Snapshot tables must be rebuilt when multi-language support is enabled or disabled for attributes and repositories.
- A snapshot table's multi-language support option should not be changed frequently. Snapshot tables must be rebuilt when multi-language support is enabled or disabled for attributes and repositories.
System
- The installation and operation of EnterWorks on a system with a non-English operating system or non-English SQL is not supported.
User Interface
- Branding cannot be localized.
User Management and Security
- The enabling and disabling of languages for users is limited to the selection of session language only. Disabling or enabling the languages a user can access does not ensure that a user can or cannot see or access a data object or an attribute's language variants.
Validation
- Validation rules are not supported for repeatable attributes. (EW-10322)
- Rules cannot have literal values defined in EMEA format, for example: 1,23 * 123 453,46.
- Only the following types of validation rules are supported for multi-language attributes: Simple; VTL-like; Callout, Bulk Callout, and Pre-Save Callout.
Workflow
- Launching work items on a repository relies on the settings in the <repository> -> Edit -> Workflow Properties settings, instead of using the information from the Starting point activities in workflows that map to the repository. This effectively means a repository can have only one starting point. (EW-13580, EW-13594, EW-13595)
