Purging a workflow deletes work items from the workflow and it clears the Locked in Workflow state for all records associated with the work items. It is recommended that you use the EPX Design Console to purge work items, but you can purge them using the EnterWorks Classic UI and the New UI. For detailed information about configuring, monitoring, or using EPX, see EnterWorks EPX Workflow Guides..

If you use the New UI to purge a workflow, there are two methods you can use:

  • Purge all completed work items
  • Purge all work items: This will delete all work items (active and completed) from the workflow, even those not visible to the user. Be very careful if you choose this option.

To purge a workflow using the New UI:

  1. Log into the New UI as a user with administrative privileges.
  2. Open the Workflow Task Manager. This can be done either by opening a Workflow Task Manager Widget or by opening the Workflow Task Manager in a new tab by opening the Feature sidebar, opening Administration, and selecting Workflow Task Manager.
  3. Purge the workflow:
    • To purge all work items (active and completed) from a workflow:
      1. Select the workflow and click Purge on the Workflow Task Manager's toolbar.
      2. A confirmation window will appear. Click Yes.
    • To purge all completed work items in a workflow:
      1. Select the workflow and click Purge All Completed Work Items on the Workflow Task Manager's toolbar.
      2. A confirmation window will appear. Click Yes.
