A template's attribute mapping tells EnterWorks how to use data in the selected repositories to create the exported attribute values. To edit a syndication template's mappings:

  1. Log into the Classic UI.
  2. Open the Syndication Templates list by opening the Feature bar, opening the Import & Export tab, and selecting Syndication Templates.
  3.  Select the syndication template.
  4. Open the Action dropdown menu and select Edit Mappings. The Syndication Template Mapping Editor will appear.
    1. To define a new mapping, open the Action dropdown menu and select New. To edit an existing mapping, select the mapping, open the Action dropdown menu, and select Edit Mappings.
    2. The Syndication Template Mapping editor will appear.
      • Display name: The name of the exported column.
      • Required Indicator: If this is checked, the attribute must have a value to output to the output file. If a value is not present, the record will be exported to the error output file. This setting is useful if an attribute is required by an outside syndication target but it is not required internally to EnterWorks.
      • Select the Repository that contains the field to export.
      • Select the Catalog Node that contains dynamic attributes, if applicable. Click the magnifying glass to show a list of available nodes.
      • The list of attributes can be filtered by using the filter field below the attribute list.
      • The Mapping editor allows you to build the VTL (Velocity Template Language) formula that will be used to create the attribute's output. Select the source attribute (field) that will populate the target column. The field will be displayed in the Mapping editor. To concatenate fields together, choose multiple fields to include in the Mapping window, then add any separation characters, if required. The fields can be reordered within the window.

For more information about VTL, see Advanced VTL Mapping Guide.

      • To see what the mapping will look like, click the Preview tab. Use the fields on the bottom to enter test data into the fields.
      • To save the attribute mapping, on the Builder tab, click Save. The Syndication Template Mapping editor will close and you will be returned to the Syndication Template editor screen.
  5. To edit, copy, or delete one or more attribute mappings at once, select them then select the desired action from the Action dropdown menu.
  6. To reorder the fields in the export template, select the Set Sequence option from the Action dropdown menu. A window will appear that allows you drag and drop the columns into the desired sequence. When you are finished reordering the attributes, click the Ok button.
