The Import function in DamMaster allows importing CSV or Excel files containing metadata for existing digital assets including links to other repositories. This is useful when you want to update information for many assets at once. It is recommended this capability is only used by administrators and that the process is tested on a development or QA environment before it is run on a production environment.

To perform a batch import of digital asset metadata:

  1. Log into the Classic UI.
  2. Open the DamMaster repository in a Repository View by opening the Feature bar, expanding Content, expanding DAM, and double-clicking DamMaster.
  3. Click the Import Records from data source button on the Repository View's toolbar
  4. Select the Import Type and click the Next button.
  5. The Setup Import page will appear. Edit the options, then click Next.
  6. The Map Column Names to Format Attributes page will appear. Map the fields from your file to the appropriate target fields. 
    Note: The fields will be automatically mapped if the column names in the file match the attribute names in the repository.
  7. Click Finish.
  8. Monitor the import job on the Job Monitor page.
