To create a taxonomy's or a restricted hierarchy's control attribute, edit the profile to create the attribute and assign that attribute to the taxonomy's or hierarchy's code set. When a record is assigned to a node, the node's path will be stored in the control attribute.

  1. Open the profile for editing as described in Create or Edit a Profile.
  2. Add the control attribute with these options:

    • Data Type: VARCHAR

    • Data Size: Must be large enough to hold your taxonomy or hierarchy path.

    • Code Set: Select the taxonomy's or the hierarchy's hierarchical code set.

    • Special Function Indicator:
      • Taxonomy Node Link: If this is a taxonomy's control attribute.
      • Category Node Link: If this is a restricted hierarchy's control attribute.
  3. Click OK to save the attribute.
  4. Click Save to save your changes to the profile.
  5. Clear the cache.
