Warning: Editing a code set, hierarchy, or taxonomy can affect existing attribute values dependent on the upon them. If an active code is deactivated, any attribute values that have that value will be flagged as invalid. If you modify an existing code, you will have the option to update existing attributes in repositories that use the code set with the new values or to have them retain the old values.

There are two ways to edit a code set's codes:

  • Edit the code set.
  • or edit the codes from the code set list:
    1. Log into the Classic UI as a user with administrative privileges.
    2. Open the list of code set folders by opening the Feature bar, opening Model, and selecting Code Set.
    3. The existing code sets will be displayed, grouped in folders. Open the code set's folder.
    4. Double-click the code set whose codes you want to edit.
    5. The codes will be displayed in a list.
      1. To create a new code, open the Action dropdown and select New. To edit an existing code, open the Action dropdown and select Edit.
      2. The code detail editor will open to display either a new code or the existing code. Edit it.
        • Code Detail Id: This value is automatically generated and cannot be edited.
        • Code: Typically an internal system code.

        • Active Indicator:
          • Active: The code is available to be used.
          • Inactive: The code is not selectable by users. Attributes containing this value will be flagged as invalid.
          • Pending:
      3. The code detail editor also displays a Sequence setting. Do not edit this setting. To change the display sequence of the codes, see Set the Sequence of Code Set Codes.
      4. You can use the Previous and Next buttons to move to the previous or next code in the code set's sequence.
      5. To save your edits for all the codes, click Save.
