This process first requires the source of content (EnterWorks Repositories) to be defined so their attributes will become available for mapping. Publication Templates provide a blueprint for the desired output. This is what defines the output type, location of content, and what attributes will be published. Perform the followings steps within the EnterWorks UI to create a new Publication Template:
Click on the Publication feature in the left feature bar.
Select the Publication Template function.
Click on the desired Publication Group sub-tab under which the new Publication Template will be saved.
Select New from the Action drop down menu.
The Publication Template Editor will open. Give the new template a name (required) and description (optional).
Select the desired Output Type through the drop down menu. Only CSVs and XMLs are supported in the EnterWorks InDesign plug-in. For Comma Delimited Values (CSV) use the InDesign CSV option.
Select the Validation Level for the publication content through the drop down menu. If you are uncertain which validation level to select, contact your system administrator. Leave the field blank if your organization does not use this feature.
Select the Root Repository for the publication content through the drop down menu.
Select the Hierarchy (hierarchy/taxonomy that controls dynamic association) through the drop down menu. This is only necessary if your organization utilizes dynamic attributes.
If an Icon Repository is needed, select the location of the Icon Repository through the drop down menu. Icon Repository is used to support the publishing of icons driven by attributes and attribute values.
Choose an Image Max Count for the root repository image fields.
Only select an Advanced Call Out Function and/or an Advanced Call Out Class Path if directed to do so by your Systems Administrator.
Click the Edit button next to Available Link Relationships. A separate window will open (Edit Included Links of Template) where the other repositories that contain content needed for publication can be chosen.
Expand the all the repositories under the root by clicking the
button next to the repository.
Check the box next to each repository needed for publication. A separate window will open. Add a Short Name for the Link Relationship. The Short Name is used in the attribute mappings when referencing an attribute from this repository. The Short Name will be pre-populated with a default name when first opened.
If images are connected to the repository being linked, give it an Image Max Count, which limits the number of images to be included in the publication when there are more than one with the same Image Context.
Click the Save button. Short Name and Image Max Count can be changed again if Edit Details (next to the repository name) is selected.
Repeat steps 16-18 to link the rest of the available repositories needed for publication and click Return. Back in the Publication Template Editor a message will indicate the Linked Relationships have been saved.
Select the Save button to save changes new template. The new template will now be listed in the Publication Templates feature.
