To find and fix errors in process flows, subflows, and activities:

  1. For process flows or subflows, right-click an empty area on the flow canvas, and then click Show Errors in the shortcut menu, or click the Validate button on the toolbar.

For individual activities, right-click the activity, and then click Show Errors in the shortcut menu. If no errors exist, a message appears stating that the flow or activity is valid. If any errors are found in the activity or flow you validated, they are displayed in the Flow Validation Report dialog that appears.

  1. To find out more about a particular error, click the error to select it, and then click the Details... button. The Validation Details dialog displays, allowing you to read the entire message, and explaining how you can fix the error.

To view the details for any other errors, you can simply click the Back and Next button to move through the errors that were displayed in the Flow Validation Report dialog.

  1. Click the Properties... button to open the properties editor for the activity that contains the error you are viewing.

Note: This button is only active if the selected error is in an activity.

  1. Enter changes in the properties editor as needed, and then click OK.

  2. Click the Back or Next button to view and fix any other errors, if necessary. When you are done, click the Close button to close the Validation Details dialog.

  3. Click the Re-Validate button in the Flow Validation Report dialog to re-validate the activity or flow. Continue making changes to activities and re-validating as needed, until the flow is valid.
