A process flow represents an entire business process or set of activities. You can initiate work items only in process flows, not in subflows or personal subflows.

Process flows must contain:

  • at least one Manual, Automatic, Subflow, or Personal Subflow Activity designated as a starting point

  • at least one Ending Point Activity

Note: An unlimited number of starting and ending points is allowed.

Process flows can contain:

  • Manual Activities

  • Automatic Activities (BICs)

  • Split and Join Activities

  • System Activities (DPAs, Iterator, Work Item Merge, Work Item Priority, and Load Balancer Activities)

  • Subflow, Personal Subflow, and Remote Subflow Activites

Process flows cannot contain:

  • Anonymous Activities
