To assign privileges through the User or Group editor, do the following:

  1. In the Navigator pane, expand the Administration folder, then the Users or Groups folder, and then double-click the user or group for which you want to configure security.

  2. Click the Security tab.

  1. Double-click the folder of the component for which you want to set the user or group’s permissions, and then select the checkboxes for the various actions that you want to enable, such as Read, Write, Create, Delete, or All, or Existing. Selecting the All checkbox will enable all actions.

Note: Depending on the folder you have selected, not all actions are available for selection. You may need to open several folders to see all of the objects on which you want to set security. The operations SELECT, UPDATE, INSERT, DELETE, and EXEC are reserved for future use.

  1. Repeat the above step for every object for which you want to set security preferences.

  2. Click Apply to save your changes and keep the editor open, or click OK to save your changes and close the editor.
