Join Activities allow two or more parallel activities to converge into a common thread of control. Use a Join Activity to converge multiple paths.

To place a Join Activity in a process flow:

  1. Click the Join Activity button on the tool palette.

  2. Click the spot on the canvas where you want to place the Join Activity.

  3. Right-click the Join Activity icon, and then click Properties in the shortcut menu.

  4. On the General tab, type a name for the Join Activity in the Name box and a description (optional) in the Description box.

If you do not specify a name when you create the activity, EPX assigns a default name such as Join Activity (1).

  1. Click the Details tab and select either And or Or.

  • And — requires all participants to complete the task before work items are released back into the process flow

  • Or — requires only one participant to complete a task for the corresponding work item to be released back into the process flow
