PSYTE™ US Geodemographic Data consists of the data files described in this section. Details, including table names and data schemas for these files, are contained in the psyte_us_data_schema.xlsx workbook.
PSYTE™ US Geodemographic Data Block file
The block file contains the following information:
- Census 2020 Block codes
- Associated Block Group code based on the latest TIGER/Line geographic coding
- PSYTE™ US group code (01, 02, etc. Not classified = NC.)
- PSYTE™ US category code (1, 2, etc. Not classified = 0.)
- PSYTE™ US segment code (01.1, 01.2, etc. Not classified = NC.0.)
- Seven drill-down variables with label categories across three themed dimensions – income, life stage, and property. Not classified = NC0.
- Census 2020-based estimates of total households and population (at the Census Block level). These counts have a Census 2020 reference date and are aligned to GroundView base year estimates.
The block file is provided for all Census Blocks in the United States, not including those in any Territories. Unpopulated blocks, those with insufficient data, and those dominated by institutional or military group quarters are not classified.
Benchmark file
The benchmark file contains Census 2020-based estimates of total households and population by individual segment and group for the United States, individual states and counties (or county equivalents), and Core Based Statistical Areas.
PSYTE™ US Geodemographic Segment Label file
The geodemographic segment label file contains segment names for all 63 PSYTE™ US segments. Refer to the PSYTE™ US geodemographic segment labels section of this document for additional information.
