This tool is used to remove duplicate attributes or geometries in the selected layer.

The Delete Duplicate tool can be selected by navigating the following path:

  • Tools > Vector Processing > Spatial Analysis > Delete Duplicate

The first section requires you to select required data layers and parameters to run the Delete Duplicate tool.

  1. Select Base Layer – Layer on which you will run this tool.
  2. Delete Duplicate By – You can choose from the following methods to run this tool:

    • Attributes – Removes duplicate rows by a field value. The first matching row is retained, and duplicates are discarded. You must select the Attribute field to implement this method.

    • Geometry – This method finds duplicate geometry and removes it from the output layer. Attributes are not checked, if two features have identical geometries but different attributes, only the first one is added to the output layer.

The output is represented as a highlighted polygon based on the delete duplicate method selected.

You can view the output after storing it. To save the output, you must enter the Output Layer Name and click on Save Data button. The saved output will be added as a new layer in the current map session, where you can apply styling as required. This output layer will also be available in 'My Data' section and can be used in any map session of interest.
