The layer panel is an important part of the map session that controls data upload, modification, and analysis of data. Multiple layers can be added, and they are all displayed within the panel itself. Several components are available to manage and maintain every layer. These components get enabled only when a layer is selected.
- Name - Provides a name to the map session which can be edited anytime.
- Add Layer - This option extends to a panel where you can upload your own dataset or choose one from the data library.

Group - You can
group multiple layers in a session to organize them as required. Fastpath: To select multiple layers, Hold down on the SHIFT button, then click on the layers.
- Duplicate - You can create a copy of the selected layer.
- Hide or Show - You can turn off the visibility of the selected layer until you select this option. This option is also available through the eye icon on the right side of each data layer row.

Lock - You can freeze
the styling panel for the selected layer. Note: To implement further style changes and modifications the layer must be unlocked.
- Delete - You can remove the selected layer. With this option all style changes and other modifications made on the layer are removed permanently.
Map Background - This component on the Layer or Tools panel extends Base Map panel that contains three drop-down features: Basemap, External Map Service and Background Color.
- Base Map - You can use the base maps that are available or the ones you have purchased. If required, you can also specify a zoom range.
- External Map Service - You can insert the WebMap by providing a URL.Note:
- You are only allowed to enter Https URLs.
- You are not allowed to enter Google Map URLs.
You must enter z-x-y format in the URL.
For example, https://tile.opentopomap.org/(z)/(x)/(y).png
- Background Color - You can apply a background color to the map session by selecting a color from the palette or by customizing a color with a specific opacity.
