This option is accessible by selecting the hamburger menu in the top left corner of the landing screen. The following options are available on the settings screen:
- Profile – The field user can view credentials such as the Profile Photo, Name, Email, Role, and Organization ID, the first two of which can be changed and saved at any time.
- Form Layout – The field user can choose from the two themes listed below:
Horizontal theme allows you to respond to one entry on each page by sliding through the screen.
Consolidated theme allows you to respond to the complete survey form by scrolling over the page.
- Offline Maps – Field users can download maps to use in areas that have limited internet access. The map is stored in the device's local storage and used in the field to prevent collaborators from manually loading map tiles.
-
Base Map – Field user can select from two options below as the default base
map.
OSM Map – OpenStreetMap is a free, open geographic database updated and maintained by a community of volunteers via open collaboration under an open database license.
Google Maps – Google Maps is a web mapping platform and consumer application offered by Google. It offers satellite imagery, aerial photography, street maps, 360° interactive panoramic views of streets, real-time traffic conditions, and route planning for travel.
- GPS Settings – Field user can connect to an external GNSS connection feature which was designed to enable precision surveys, such as cadastral mapping, where location accuracy is critical.
- Measurement Units – Field user can select measurement units such as meter, feet or kilometers for length and square meters, square foot, square kilometers, acre, or hectare for area.
The application's landing page displays the details and the amount of projects assigned to that specific field user. This page contains three modules: Projects, Notifications, and Chats.
The Projects module will enable the field user to perform the data collection activity.
The Notifications module will notify the field user of any actions taken by the Admin or Analyst, such as changes to forms.
Chat module will enable the field user to communicate with the Admin and the Analyst through Data collection interface.
Projects Module
When a field user clicks on the Projects tab, a list of projects will appear. Data collection statistics are displayed for each project. The statistics for data entries with validation status such as collected, approved, pending, and resurvey can be instantly reviewed by the field user.
The field user must synchronize the data in order to use the updated form generated through the web interface.
Each project has an ellipsis to download the WebMap for the convenience of the field users. The field user can download the WebMap to the mobile's local storage to ensure that the application runs smoothly even when internet access is limited while panning the base map in the field. They can also instantly analyze statistics for data entries with validation status such as collected, approved, pending, and resurvey.
When a field user clicks on a project, they can access the forms associated with that project. When a field user clicks on the form, they are directed to a map screen that includes two tabs to gather and review data, such as 'Collect' and 'Update'.
Collect Tab
The field user has three options for creating geometry and collecting data under the collect tab.
Locate - Using mobile GPS, field user can locate a specific location on the mobile application that reads the real-time location. The surveyor shall move around and drop the vertex to create the geometry on each location.
Trace - Field user must walk around the area of interest and use the built-in GPS to create the line segment or polygon. After creating the geometry, they must update and submit the relevant form.
Restriction: This option is disabled for point geometries.Digitize - Field user can create geometry on the map screen by dragging the crosswire over the base map. Once the geometry is created, area and perimeter will be calculated for the respective geometry types. For Polygon geometry, area and length will be measured and shown within the polygon. For Line geometry, only the length will be measured and displayed.
Update Tab
The field user can view the geometry in two ways :
List view – This screen displays the data collected by the field user as a list. Each geometry has an ellipsis with three options: Edit Geometry, Edit Form, and Delete.
Map view – When a field user clicks on the map view, the data collected from the form is displayed on the map, and the user can select geometries to do actions including Edit Geometry, Edit Form, and Delete.
Additional features on the Map screen
- Map type - The base map is set to OSM Map by default, however this can be modified in the settings, which can be accessed via the hamburger menu on the landing page. For the base map, the field user can select between Google and OSM maps. Aside from the base map, Google Satellite or the WebMap can be selected. To access the WebMap, the Admin must publish the WebMap from the map session assigned to the project.
- Recenter - Uses mobile GPS to determine the field user's current location and moves the pinpoint to that location on the map screen.
- Locate or Edit - Locate icon allows the field user to mark points on the map. Later, it changes to an edit icon, allowing them to adjust the points marked on the map screen.
- Delete - Field user can delete points located on the map screen.
- Undo - Field user can revert to the previous action on the map screen.
- Redo - Field user can repeat the previous action on the map screen.
- Next - Field user can initiate data collection from the form, once you are satisfied with the geometry that has been digitized.
