The WFS Table Properties give you more control over refreshing your WFS table and allow you to change the original retrieval options and filters.

To refresh the currently selected WFS table using the new retrieval options:

  1. On the TABLE tab, in the Maintenance group, click WFS Table Properties.

If more than one WFS table is open, a Select WFS Table list opens. Select the table you want to refresh and click Select.

  2. In the WFS Table Properties dialog box, make your changes to the column filter (click Column Filter), the server time outs (click Server), and the object styles following the typical behavior for these entries.
    • Click Server to change server time outs and the server description.
    • Click Column Filter and Row Filter to change retrieval options. When you change the Column Filter options, you can also change the Preferred View options. (The Preferred View drop-down list enables.)
    • Select the Max Features check box to change the number of maximum number of features (records) that the server returns. For instructions, see Setting the Number of Records (Features) that a WFS Server Returns.
    • Click the buttons in the Object Styles pane to change the styles of the refreshed table.
Note: If the Projection button is enabled, then the projection of the WFS is unsupported, choose another projection from the list.
  3. Click OK to save your changes.
You can also refresh your WFS data automatically by selecting the Auto Update check box in the WFS Table Properties dialog box. This would send a request to fetch features based on the following scenarios:

Auto Update: Select to send an automatic request to fetch features based on the following scenarios:

  • Fetch all features (If the Max Features check-box is unchecked):
    • With Zoom-In there will be no automatic request to fetch records.
    • With Zoom-Out until the last fetched MBR is within the existing MBR, no request will be sent. Once the new view MBR is outside the last fetched MBR, an automatic request will be sent to fetch more features.
    • While Panning an auto request will be sent to fetch record if new view MBR is outside the last fetched MBR.
  • Fetch limited features (If the Max Features check-box is selected):
    • While Zoom-in, Zoom-out and Panning, an auto request will be sent to fetch features based on the new view MBR.
