If you copy and paste a single node, a point object is created. If you copy and paste multiple nodes, a polyline object is created.

To copy and paste nodes:

  1. On the SPATIAL tab, in the Selection group, click Select, and Select.
  2. On the map, select the object that you want to reshape.
  3. On the SPATIAL tab, in the Edit group, click Reshape to see small filled boxes at each node in the object.
  4. Select the nodes to be copied.

Press the Ctrl key to select a series of points along the object.

  5. On the SPATIAL tab, in the Clipboard group, click Copy to copy the selected nodes to the clipboard as a point or polyline.
  6. On the SPATIAL tab, in the Clipboard group, click Paste to copy the node(s) as a point or polyline on to the map.
Note: The tabular data is not copied to the clipboard. When you paste the nodes, the resulting object has an empty tabular row.
