You can add a border to a frame on the Layout canvas as a frame property. All frames may have a border and a fill color.
Shapes (ellipses, rectangles, rounded rectangles, and lines) do not have borders, but their display style is still set as a frame property. You can set the fill color and pattern for shapes, and the line style and width for shape outlines and for lines.
To add a border to a frame or change the display style of a shape:

Click Style
. Depending on your selection, this opens the:
- Line Style dialog box to specify the style, color, and width of the line.
- Region Style dialog box to specify a fill pattern for the frame or shape, and border style (color and width) for the frame or shape outline. For frames, you can only set the foreground color.
The Frame Properties dialog box is also where you can change the frame or shape position from the top left corner of the layout, and size by setting width and height values.
Another way to change the frame or shape style is to select a frame or shape and then click one of the following commands on the Layout window.
