The Refresh Legend dialog box lets you specify parameters for refreshing a legend. Depending on what edits you made to the map, refreshing the legend might have various effects:
- If you add new styles to the map, or if you modify existing styles, such as increasing the point size of a symbol, refreshing the legend causes the new rows to appear in the legend, showing the new styles.
- If you remove styles from the map, so that those styles are no longer used anywhere in that layer, refreshing the legend removes those styles, that are no longer used, from the legend.
- If you had previously hidden styles from the legend (by clearing them in the Legend Frame Properties dialog box), refreshing the legend does not cause those styles to reappear; those styles will remain hidden from the legend.
Refresh Styles
If selected, then MapInfo Pro will rescan the tables associated with all refreshable frames. New styles will be added to the frame and obsolete styles will be removed.
Refresh Layout
If the layout mode is changed from Portrait to Landscape, or vice versa, or from Custom to Portrait or Landscape, MapInfo Pro resizes the window to a default size that's based on the layout mode (similar to the initial window you get when you first create a Portrait or Landscape legend).
Portrait/Landscape
Determines the orientation of the frames when the layout is refreshed. This is disabled when Refresh Layout is not selected.
