Use the Find dialog box (second dialog box) to specify what you want to look for.
First column name
Allows you to enter the name of the object or address you are searching for. The name of the column that you specified in the first Find dialog box is listed to the left of the box. If MapInfo Pro cannot find the specified object, it prompts you with the message Exact match not found and displays a list of close matches that you can choose from.
Second column name
If you have used the Refine option in the first dialog box, a second column name is listed in the dialog box. This is where you type the name of the refining boundary.
List box
If MapInfo Pro cannot find an exact match for the object you specified, it lists possible matches in this box. Click Up or Down to move to other pages. To choose a specific entry from the list, click on that entry.
Navigation Buttons
OK
Initiates the Find.
Cancel
Cancels the Find.
Respecify
Returns you to the first Find dialog box, so you can choose another table, column, or set Find options.
If the found object is not visible in the current Map window, MapInfo Pro positions the object in the Map window and designates the object with the symbol specified in the Find dialog box.
When the object is in the current Map window, the contents of the map does not move, but MapInfo Pro still designates the object with a symbol. When you are working with a Browser, MapInfo Pro scrolls through the Browser until the designated object is the first record in the window.
