The Buffer Objects dialog box allows you to specify and create a buffer for a region.
Radius
The buffer radius is the distance between the object (or objects) and the border of the buffer polygon.
Value
Enter a number for the buffer radius in coordination with the desired units.
From Column
Use the From Column drop-down list to specify a column or choose Expression to create an expression. The buffer radius can be determined from a table value or by an expression.
Units
The following units are available: link, rod, chain, inch, foot, yard, mile, millimeter, centimeter, meter, kilometer. The default unit is the distance unit for the Map window.
Smoothness - segments per circle
The smoothness determines the resolution of the curves in the buffer polygon. The default value is 12 segments per circle. More segments produce a smoother curve; fewer segments make a more jagged curve.
One buffer of all objects
Creates one buffer for all objects.
For example, if you are buffering Pennsylvania, New York, and New Hampshire, one buffer is created for all three of these objects.
One buffer for each object
Creates one buffer for each object.
For example, if you are buffering Pennsylvania, New York, and New Hampshire, each object has a separate buffer.
Buffer Width Distance using
MapInfo Pro uses Spherical where possible and Cartesian otherwise.
Spherical
Spherical calculations are used for distance methods and take into account the curvature of the Earth. The data is first converted to Latitude/Longitude and then a calculation is produced.
Cartesian
Cartesian methods are used to perform calculations on Non-Earth data (in two dimensional space). Cartesian coordinates are a pair of numbers, (x, y), defining the position of a point in a two-dimensional space by its perpendicular projection onto two axes which are at right angles to each other.
Next
If your TAB file has attribute data (browser data) then you get the Next button. Click the Next button to display the Data Aggregation dialog box.
OK
If your data is just a mapper (no data) then the button is an OK.
