What is the purpose of Rotate Object?
To rotate one or more objects by specifying a precise angle of rotation. You can also specify a rotation anchor point by supplying the X/Y coordinates or by picking the location from the map. The anchor point can be locked for future rotation operations or be reset to the default anchor point.
For quick rotations, you do not need to use this command. You can rotate the object(s) directly by clicking and dragging the rotation handle (small filled diamond) that exists in the lower right corner of the selected object's Minimum Bounding Rectangle (MBR). If more than one object is selected, all objects will be rotated around the anchor point.
When is Rotate Object active?
When a Map window is the active window and has an editable layer and at least one selected object.
How do I access Rotate Object?
On the SPATIAL tab, in the Edit group, click Transform, and click Rotate Object.
