What is the purpose of the Create Points command (Table List Shortcut menu)?
To create point objects for a database that has X and Y coordinates or longitude/latitude coordinate information. These points can be displayed on a map. Coordinate information can be stored in numeric and non-numeric fields. If you do not have coordinates in your table, then use Geocode to match some other geographic information (such as street address or ZIP Code) against a table that already has graphic objects. You can also replace existing objects with new point objects without deleting the existing geographic data first.
When is the Create Points command active?
When a table is active.
