Sometimes you may want to align one raster with the other raster to match the cell size, origin and projection. To align, we need one or more input rasters and one primary raster. The input raster is the raster that you want to align and the primary raster is the raster to be used as reference.
When we align two rasters, we match the geometry of one raster with another raster. The output raster, created from Align operation, acquires the cell size, origin and projection of the primary raster.
If the raster file you have selected has multiple fields and bands, the Select Fields, Bands drop-down list appears. You can select a field from the drop-down list.
Multi-field and Band Support in Align
The Align tool supports a multi-field and multi-band raster. By default, if the primary raster is a multi-field and multi-band raster, the input raster will get aligned with the first field of the primary raster. However, you can override this by selecting the required field from the Select Field drop-down list.
The Align tool is useful to align the cells and origin of one or more rasters to an existing raster. You can then perform other raster operations like combine, clip or export with ease.
