Input File

Select an input raster from the drop-down list or browse to a file location to open the input raster. Then click the drop-down list and select the check box against the raster.

VRT Creation Options

The VRT Creation Options section consists of the following:

  • Output Raster Structure - This section displays the output raster's field and band structure to give you an idea of your output raster. You can edit a field/band name by typing a new name in the respective field/band name box.

To modify the output structure you can remove a field or band. Click the button to remove a field or band. Click the drop-down list button to select a band from the list. The drop-down list derives the bands from the input raster file.

Primary grid - The primary grid will have a yellow star beside it. By default, the first raster in the Output Rasters Structure list is the primary raster. You can click on the white star beside the input file to make it primary. The primary raster is used to define the geometry and projection of the output file.

If you select the Record Relative Path checkbox, the Raster source path will be recorded in the output XML.

Output File

In the Output File box enter the name you want to specify for your output XML file. Click to browse to the location in your computer to save the XML file.

Click Output Settings for more options. The values in Output Settings are controlled by the Raster Preferences dialog; however, you can override those settings here.

Display Output File - Select the check-box, if you want to open the output file in the Map window on completion of the operation. You can configure to make this the default behavior from the Raster Preferences dialog.
