Input
- Input File - Select an input raster whose statistics you want to view or calculate.
- Select Fields, Bands - If the selected input raster has
multiple fields and bands, the Select Fields, Bands option allows you to
choose either All Fields All Bands or a particular field for the
processing.
Select a specific field from the drop-down list, you can then choose the desired bands from that field. You can not select bands from different fields, because only one field can be selected at a time. Click the radio button against the field or check-box against the band that you want to select. By default All Fields All Bands option is selected for you.
Statistics Mode
You can select one of the modes for calculating the raster statistics. These modes speeds up the process of calculating the statistics.
- Count - Select this option to calculate, count and cell validity statistics.
- Basic - Select this option to calculate, count, summary and statistics.
- Intermediate - Select this option to calculate, count, summary and a histogram showing the distribution of values.
- Advanced - Select this option to calculate count, summary, histogram and cell to cell statistics. The advanced option allows you to create spatial (containing location) summaries. For example, you can calculate the average elevation for each watershed. Summary data is useful for gaining a better understanding of conditions in your study area.
Statistics Quality
- Estimate - Statistics are calculated at overview pyramid level.
- Full - Statistics are calculated at base level.
Calculate Statistics
If you open a file for which statistics are not available, the Calculate Statistics button gets enabled and MapInfo Pro Advanced prompts you to calculate statistics. You can click Calculate Statistics to calculate statistics. You need to close the file for which statistics is calculated and re-open it. The window gets refreshed and presents you the statistics for the file. When working with large raster dataset, you should calculate statistics first before using Advanced Color options for smooth operations and high performance.
Raster Statistics
Statistics | Description |
---|---|
Minimum | The minimum value among all the cells in the raster. |
Maximum | The maximum value among all the cells in the raster. |
Mean | Mean of all the values of cells in the raster. |
Range | Difference of the maximum and minimum cell values in the raster dataset. |
Standard Deviation | Standard deviation of cell samples in the grid. |
Variance | The variance of the cell samples in the grid. |
Signal To Noise | Signal to noise ratio of the input raster grid. |
Total Cell Count | Total count of all the cells in the grid. |
Valid Cells | The number of cells in the grid that do not have null values. |
Null Cells | The number of invalid cells in the dataset. |
% Valid Cells | Percentage of valid cells in the dataset. |
Raster Histogram
Options | Description |
---|---|
Bin Count | The number of bins in the histogram. User specified bin counts to be created in equal width histogram, if not specified default number of bins are generated. |
Bin Width | Width of a bin in the histogram. |
Maximum Value | Maximum value of the raster. |
Maximum Frequency | Maximum frequency. |
