The Export dialog box enables you to export your raster to a delimited ASCII text file or a MapInfo TAB file. You can export native raster formats and MRR format to ASCII text (.txt) or ESRI ASCII Grid (.asc) and a MapInfo TAB file (.TAB).

Input

  • Input File - Select an input raster from the drop-down list or browse to a file location.
  • Select Fields, Bands - If the selected input raster has multiple fields and bands, the Select Fields, Bands option allows you to choose either All Fields All Bands or a particular field for the processing.

Select a specific field from the drop-down list, you can then choose the desired bands from that field. You can not select bands from different fields, because only one field can be selected at a time. Click the radio button against the field or check-box against the band that you want to select. By default All Fields All Bands option is selected for you.

  • Export To - You can export a raster into an ASCII text file or ESRI ASCII Grid and MapInfo TAB file format. Depending on the selected file format, the export options are displayed.

Export to ASCII Options

  • Null Cell Value - Value to be written for null cells in the output text file.
  • Write XY Coordinate - Specifies whether the XY coordinates will be written in the output text file or not. When checked the output file will have XYZ values else only Z values.
  • Export Origin - Specifies the location of the first cell written to the file. The grid will be written sequentially from this point.
  • Cell Origin At - Specifies whether the XY coordinates refer to the cell center or lower-left corner of the cell.
  • Delimiter - Specifies how the values will be separated in the output ASCII file, for example, tab, space, semi colon, comma, or user-defined value.
  • Precision - Specifies the number of digits after decimal point that will be written in the output text file.

Export to TAB Options

  • Write Null Cells - Specifies whether you want to write the null cell values in the output file. When selected you need to specify the null cell value.
  • Null Cell Value - Enter the required null cell value.
  • Write XY Coordinates - Specifies whether the XY coordinates will be written in the output text file or not. When checked the output file will have XYZ values else only Z values.
  • Match Color to Input - Select this if you want to export the color value of the cell. The points in vector file will be colored using the color value of the cell.
  • Export As - Specifies whether to export the TAB file as point or rectangle.
  • Cell Origin At - Specifies whether the XY coordinates refer to the cell center or lower-left corner of the cell.

More Options

If required, click More Options to open the Clip Extent options to specify the data extent that you wan to export.

  • Full Data Extent - This option denotes the complete extent of the input raster file. If you want to export the entire raster, select this option. .
  • User Rectangle - Enter the rectangular bounds to define the area to export. You can also draw a rectangle on the open map and click on Export dialog, the bounds get auto-populated.
  • Map Extent - Use map extent from the input raster file to define the region to be exported.
