To use the Line Statistics tool:

  1. On the RASTER tab, in the Operations group, click Raster Operations and then click the Line Stats button to open the Line Inspection dialog box.
  2. Select the input raster from Input File drop-down list or click to browse the raster file(s).
  3. Click Select Line Layer drop-down list or click to browse the MapInfo TAB file.

    An example of a TAB file that defines a line is shown below. The figure on the right displays the line that will be used to calculate sample point statistics on the input raster.

  4. Type the required number of cell samples in the Number of Samples field.

    By default, the value is 100. However, you can modify default settings from the Preferences dialog box.

  5. Click More Options to choose line inspection attributes. Select the check-boxes for the attributes you want to compute.
  6. Specify a name and location for the output raster that you are creating. In the Output File box enter the name you want to specify for your output file. Click to browse to the location to save the output file. Click Output Settings and then select Display Output File to display the output file after the operation is complete.
  7. Click Process to create a table containing line inspection attribute based on your selection.

You will see the output in a browser window with new column(s) containing line inspection attribute values for line from input raster.
