The Cell Value tool examines the X and Y coordinates of the selected cell of the raster. The Cell Value tool enables you to query and get raster values from selected locations in a raster file. The Cell Value has two modes - the Full mode and the Status Bar mode.
- Full mode
- Status Bar mode
The Full mode can be accessed by clicking the Cell Value on the ribbon. The Cell Value window displays only when you are in full mode.
In the Status Bar mode, the Cell Value window does not display and the cell value for the primary raster is displayed on the status bar. The primary raster can be set in the Full mode only. By default, the first file in the list is the primary raster which is indicated by a yellow star beside it.
The Select Fields Bands drop-down list enables you to select the desired field and band from the input raster. After you have selected the desired field and band, you can click on the input raster using your mouse cursor.
For a single field, multi-band raster, click the drop-down list on the Cell Value window and select the desired layer to inspect the cell value of the desired layer.
For a multi-field, multi-band raster, click the drop-down list on the Cell Value window and select the desired layers to inspect the cell values of the desired layers.
If you want to inspect a large number of points, use the Point Stats tool.
