The Display Mode allows you to map different bands in your raster dataset against red, green, and blue color channels to illuminate the image and derive useful insight. The different band combinations highlight different features in your raster data.
For example, Landsat satellite collect information from various wavelength bands, process them and present the information in different formats such as .tiff. If you have Landsat data, you can apply different primary colors to the bands to enhance image visualization. MapInfo Pro Advanced provides some templates for you to apply common band color mapping on your data. This helps you in identifying and distinguishing different features of your raster data with ease.
Fields - Displays the list of Fields in the raster you have opened.
RGB/Pseudo/Classified Mode - Choose the mode in which you want to display the raster. By default, if the raster you have opened is an imagery, the Display Mode is set to RGB. If it is a continuous raster, the Display Mode is set to Pseudo. For a classified raster, it is set to Classified.
You can also access it from the STYLE tab which gets activated after enabling the Cosmetic Layer.
The RGB option supports the following rendering options:
- Field to display: The field selector displays all the fields that are selected in the layer window. To render different fields, select the field name from the drop-down list. There must be two or more fields to activate this command.
- Display Mode: It displays you the mode in which the file is rendered. You can select to render the file in either Pseudo, RGB, or Classified mode. You can render continuous and imagery file in either Pseudo or RGB display mode by choosing the respective mode from the list.
- Band Mapping: The band selector displays all the bands for the selected field. When in Pseudo mode band selector shows the list of bands as a drop-down and you can select specific band to render it on the current map. When in RGB display mode, band selector gives option to map different bands in the current raster to RGB channel and render it on current mapper.
Bands - Displays the list of Bands in the raster you have opened. If the raster type is imagery, it displays the Band Mapping options.
