Grouping is based on the columns in your tabular source data. For numeric data column, you have the following options.

Grouping Input Data based on Numeric Column

On the Raster tab, in the Interpolate group, click Create Raster Multi-file or Create Raster. The Create Raster dialog box opens.

In the Select Columns drop-down list, select the column on which you want to perform interpolation.

Select the column for grouping. Based on the content of the selected column, a new dialog opens. Alternatively, click the button against the Group field and then select the column for grouping.

  • Select Columns - Select a column from your tabular data source. This field is auto-populated if you have selected columns on the main dialog box. You can change column from the drop-down list.

  • Number of unique data value - Displays the total number of unique data value in the selected column.

  • Use each unique data value as a separate group - Select this check box if you want as many groups as there are unique values in the selected columns. If you create MRR output each group of unique value is added as a separate band. Alternatively, click the plus sign to specify a range of data between the minimum and the maximum values.

  • Minimum Data Value - Displays the minimum value in the selected column.

  • Maximum Data Value - Displays the maximum value in the selected column.

  • Specify one or more ranges - Click the plus sing to specify a range of data between the minimum and the maximum values. If you create MRR output, each range of data will be added as a separate band.

While generating output from grouping, choose MRR format if you want a single file containing all individual groups. If you choose .grd or other file format, individual files are created for each group.

At any point of time, you can click OK to go back to the main window to complete the gridding process.
