There are no special instructions for installing the License Server Utility on a 64-bit Windows Operating System.
The License Server Utility runs in the following virtualized environments:
- VMware Workstation 10
- VMware ESXi 5.5
The License Server Utility and the MapInfo Licensing Server can communicate (while activating
and returning licenses) using both the HTTP and the more secure HTTPS protocol. If you
are using an older version of the License Server Utility, you can manually enable the
HTTPS protocol for communication. To enable HTTPS:
- Open the Windows Registry Editor and browse to the following
location:
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\MapInfo\License Server\<version_number> - Right-click on the String value FNOAddr and click Modify.
- Update the URL in Value data by replacing HTTP with HTTPS.
- Click OK.
