The VERSION parameter enables you to forward SMF record events that are sensitive to the creation level of the operating system (z/OS) on which Ironstream is running. By default, Ironstream uses routines that create JSON events at the level of the z/OS on which Ironstream is currently executing. For example, when using the SMF offline loader facility, the version of the input file may be different than the version of the z/OS on which Ironstream is running.
To ensure accurate values of the JSON name/value pairs in SMF fields, the VERSION parameter can override the default z/OS level used to create the JSON name/value pairs. This ensures forwarding SMF record events that match the level of the z/OS that created the input data set.
