The Ironstream Transaction Analytics Connector (TAC) allows CICS users to send CICS transaction data to a machine data analytics platform (such as Splunk).

The TAC is made up of two components:

  • The Annotator, which runs as a CICS Task Related User Exit (TRUE) and performs the task of ensuring that the origin and adapter data are set correctly.

  • The Collector, which runs as a CICS Global User Exit (GLUE) and stages transaction data for collection by Ironstream.

Ironstream collects log output, in real-time, from CICS and forwards it via TCP to the data analytics platform. The collected data is sent as a JSON document in the standard Ironstream SFM 110 format.

For more information, refer to the Ironstream Transaction Tracing Installation and User’s Guide.
