This chapter describes how to run the mapping job that associates the CIs to the services based on the patterns defined previously.
When the Mapping Job runs, it will apply Service Mapping to all of the Services that have Patterns associated to them. In order to run the Mapping Job for a particular Service, then see the below section “Running the Mapping Job for a Single Service”.
Precisely recommends running the mapping job soon after Discovery to ensure that the CIs created by the Discovery are associated with the appropriate services. The running of the Mapping Job should be done during off-peak hours to limit any potential performance impacts to the ServiceNow instance.
To run the job manually:
Within ServiceNow, search for Scheduled Jobs.
Select the System Definition > Scheduled Jobs option.
Search by Name Ironstream.
Select the Ironstream Mainframe Service Mapping job to load its details.
Click the Execute Now button in the upper right corner.
To have the job run automatically:
Load the Ironstream Mainframe Service Mapping job to view its details
Select an option from the Run dropdown that suits your requirements.
Note: Selecting an option other than ‘On Demand’ will present further options to tailor the
automatic run.
Click Update button in the upper right corner to save your change.
The job will now trigger at times based on the details provided for the automatic run.
