You can modify patterns from the Ironstream Mainframe Service Mapping Patterns List View. Refer to

“Accessing the Patterns” for information on this.

To modify a pattern, click on the pattern you want to modify. This will display the form that was used to fill out the pattern details with all the saved values loaded.

Note: The Copy Existing Pattern option is not available since this is only available for a new pattern.

When modifying a pattern, you can change any field for that pattern and click the Update button to save the changes.

If the pattern you are editing is one of a set that will be ANDed together, unless you wish to remove this pattern from the set the following fields should not be changed, unless you change them for all of the patterns in the set.

  • Pattern Name

  • Service Name

  • Traversal

  • Max Depth

Once all the modifications are completed and the changes have been saved, when the Mapping Job next runs, at that point all the CIs matching the pattern’s new criteria will be added.

Note: The "CI Attributes" field can only be edited from the Form View. The "CI Attributes" drop-down is unpopulated when accessed from the List View.
