Miscellaneous parameters determine the size of Ironstream generated log files and provide optional mainframe domain names.

Parameters

Description

Default

Valid Values

EVOLOGSIZE

Maximum size of any Ironstream generated log file (in kilobytes).

3000

Any integer greater than or equal to 1 (kilobyte)

EVOHOST_NAME

Optional name for the mainframe domain, comparable to the DOMAINID parameter in the NetView/390 DSIPARM(DSIDMN) member.

NET1

Eight-character SNA hostname

EVO_ADDFIELDS_ TO_MSG

Determines if Ironstream messages should be prefixed with additional z/OS information.

no

yes or no See Note 1

EVO_ETOAFILE

Identifies the file to be used to translate z/OS EBCDIC characters to ASCII characters. If a new character mapping file is to be used, make a copy of the default file vp390.etoa.engus and change the hexadecimal values for the desired characters, then enter the name of the new file in this parameter.

/opt/OV/vp390/l ocal/C/vp390.et oa.engus

Filename on the OMi Proxy Server

EV390_LICKEY

The license key received from Precisely for this mainframe node. Each managed node requires a unique key to connect to the Ironstream management server, although the same key may be used for multiple LPARs on the same physical IBM Z system.

None

See the Installation Guide for information on acquiring a license key.

Note 1: Using this option will require the MVS message policies to be recoded to expect these additional fields.

If this parameter is set to yes, each MVS message sent to OMi will have the originating IBM Z system name, job name, and job ID (if any) attached to the front of the message. Each of these fields may be up to 8 characters long, and the fields will be separated by a space. If a field is blank, it will be represented by the string “N/A”. SNA network messages that are received by Ironstream through one of the VTAM interfaces (the PPO or PPI) will have only the jobname “VTAM”.
