Filter

Set this option to one of these:

  • Yes: If the message ID filters should be applied to messages coming from this queue, restricting which messages will be forwarded.

  • No: Allow messages to be forwarded regardless of their message ID.

  • Severity: Allow any non-inquiry messages with a severity equal to or greater than the Minimum Severity field to be forwarded, regardless of the message ID. Messages with a severity less than the Minimum Severity value will be forwarded only if the message ID is in the message ID filter table.

Minimum Severity

Set to a numeric value 0-99 indicating the necessary minimum severity of an incoming message. Messages with a lower severity will not be forwarded, even if matched to a message ID filter. Enter "0" to allow all messages to be processed, regardless of severity.

Age Limit

Enter a time limit (in seconds) of how old a message can be and still be forwarded. This is useful during startup of the subsystem on the IBM i LPAR. When the subsystem is started for the first time (or if it has been brought down for any length of time), the Age Limit helps prevent a flood of messages from being forwarded.

Inquiry

If selected, then all messages in this queue with a Message Type of Inquiry (messages that ask for a reply) will be forwarded, regardless of the message ID if the Filter option is set to Yes.

  1. Click the Save button to update the configuration.

  2. You can Rename, Copy, or Delete an existing group.

  3. Select a message queue configuration and click the Distribute button to send the list of monitored queues to the Ironstream Agent for IBM i. The EVSBS subsystem must be running at the time of the distribution.

When the subsystem is running, it will begin monitoring message queues immediately after the distribution is completed.
